Suggestion: R&D centers
What it does is basically its a section of the nation like your capital city. But you research improvements to your nation like bonuses and stuff. One idea for a research project i had was increasing the “cap” of levels by a bit. Some other things might be like an extra offensive slot, or more raided per attack. Really there are a lot of possibilities and could help make the game more fun in the later parts of growth.

Will the research be time-based, require resources, or both?
Would you recommend a new resource for research? I think CN has one like that, but I've never played CN so I could be wrong.

It would be Resource Based like an actual building, but you would need to wait a while in order to be able to build the next one (something like idk a few days)

It would be Resource Based like an actual building, but you would need to wait a while in order to be able to build the next one (something like idk a few days) It doesn't make sense to have to wait in between researches, instead the research should take a certain amount of time, increasing slightly with each thing researched. what are our scientists doing, taking a break? not in my nation Another idea, I think the research should have it's own, secondary resource. Something like Research Points (RP), and money. People got so much cash laying around, research would be a great place to spend it. p.s. if a new resource is added, pls dont make another rss box at the top, power already has me going in circles

You shouldn't be able to just buy your way to the top of the line so easily. I think Research should be generated /hr, where you can upgrade a building to incrementally increase how much you get per hour. It rewards higher level players but also tries to keep it fair for lower levels, instead of it being a game of who has the most rss laying around. That's my 2¢.
